Clean and simple. We must be doing a good job, too, because reader feedback has been positively phenomenal!
The majority of travelers departing from Las Vegas will go to Grand Canyon West, which is miles to the east. Flight time is 45 minutes. Visitors starting out from Arizona, including Phoenix, Scottsdale and Sedona, will want to browse the South Rim coupons. The West Rim hosts the greatest variety of tours and is the only place where helicopters can go below the rim and land at the bottom. If that's not good reason enough, perhaps knowing that you'll fly through the widest, deepest part of the canyon will persuade you.
Grand Canyon Skywalk Prices, Tickets and Address
As everyone else states they force you to get out of your car and offer to drive 21 dirt miles you take the last mile for only Then it would be an additional dollars for us to go out on the skywalk, oh yeah no cameras or camcorders allowed on the skywalk. Me and my wife are thirfty people so after rip off offer was presented to us I looked at my wife and she looked at me and even after the grueling discouraging 21 mile dirt road we refused and got back in the rental car and left refusing to be had.
Stay away from this place all the bad reviews are right on, I wish I could've seen the canyon from the skywalk but from what I read the south rim is the best and cheaper only 12 dollars total for everyone in your car. Directions were given and no mention of the I kept saying "thank God this is a rental car".
Many cars broken down on side of the road with flat tires. Could not see 2 inches in front of me because I was following a tour bus. It was like driving in a sand storm. Finally arrived and waited in long line to buy tickets. No discounts given. I said I only wanted to see the skywalk and walk out on the walk and I was told I needed to buy a package which included a buffett. I said I did not want to eat or tour the indian village and was told that if I did not buy the package i could not go on the skywalk.

No cameras or any personal items were allowed with you and if I was told that from the beginning I would have left them in the car. I had to rent a locker and pay more money. The buffet was brutal and there wer no cold drinks. The water machine was boken and there was no shelter from the sun while waiting for the bus to take you back to the ticket booth.
They were pumping raw sewage right by where we were walking. No facts save for the Eagle pointed out by tour guides who seemed like they despised their jobs. The indian village consisted of two tipi's with no sighting of indians and you had to stay on the concrete path at the village. Although the areas around the skywalk are still under construction and the drive is long and dusty it was worth it to stand on the glass bridge feet above the floor of the canyon.
The west rim is beautiful and raw.
Be sure to wear sunglasses and a hat as it is bright and hot in the summer. I visited the Skywalk the first week of May. Most of the bad press is correct. The long dirt road was worse than the ones I grew up on in sticks of Virginia. The view was great but not being able to take pictures ruins it. The view in this western part of the canyon is very narrow compared to the 10 mile width at the southrim.

I have been to the southrim twice and hope to return many more times but I will not be going back to the Skywalk. It is no where near worth the money. One positive note on this trip.

My Toyota CD player did not skip a single time on the dirt road wow. What a frustrating, dissapointing and expensive experience! Just before arriving, a 14 mile stretch of unpaved road will beat you to death, rattle your car and cover it with an inch of dust. Once you think you've finally arrived, you're not really at the Skywalk.
You're at the parking lot and ticket office; the Skywalk is another mile or two down the road. Once you've purchased your ticket, you get to wait in line for a bus to take you to the observation point. A sign inside the bus lets you know that your "Professional Driver" would greatly appreciate a tip. Later, the Indians will serve you something they call a "delicious meal", which consists of a small piece of chicken, a miniature corn-on-the-cob, a piece of stale cake and a cup of warm lemonade.
Folks, I highly recommend that you don't waste your time, effort or money on this rip-off. It's almost like a trap. Once you're there, you feel almost like you have little choice but to go ahead and pay the price; otherwise you've made the 3 hour drive and endured the terrible road for nothing.
By the way, that "terrible road" is the only way in and the only way out. The facilities at the ticketing area and the Skywalk itself are pitiful. The entire operation is hap-hazard and poorly organized. If you have small children, keep an eye on them. There is loose rock all along the edge of the canyon and there are no barriers or guard rails.
It was not part of our original plan and wished I had left it out. The website is very misleading. The road there is a very, very , very long dusty road.
